5 Top Destinations to Visit After COVID-19

If you’re like most of the people in the world, you spent much of 2020 cooped up in your home, or at least in your hometown or country. However, with vaccinations ramping up and summer on its way, there is a real sense of hope that things might be getting back to normal soon. Traveling is something that hasn’t been on a lot of radars over the past year or so, but that might change. As cities and counties start to be immunized, it’s about time to seriously start thinking about your next trip. The question is, where to go? There are so many great options, but here are a few of the best ones.

Italy

Italy was a major tourist destination prior to the pandemic. Then, when Covid-19 hit, they were one of the hardest hit regions right away. Over 100,000 people died, and the country suffered through strict lockdowns and overflowing hospitals. However, Italy will be looking to thrive again, both as a tourist destination and as an economy. It is an incredibly vibrant and fascinating country. There are many Italy tours from which you can choose to suit any interest or lifestyle. From history, to art, to natural beauty, and everything in between, Italy wll no doubt once again be one of the top tourist destinations in the world.

New Zealand

Prior to the pandemic, New Zealand was known for being one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the world. It boasts awe-inspiring landscapes and beautiful beaches. One of its main attractions, because of the natural beauty, is its many hiking trails and paths through and around stunning natural views. If you are thinking of traveling where you can enjoy yourself while not having to deal with crowds, then hiking in New Zealand might be just the ticket. Not only that, but they were one of the best performing countries in keeping their Covid numbers low with strict rules for socializing and being out in public. Other than having tourists, New Zealand is pretty much back to normal, and when the time comes they will welcome visitors with open arms.

Antarctica

When you think of Antarctica, you might think of harsh and foreboding cold and snow. However, it is one of the most amazing tourist destinations in the world, and should be on any traveler’s wish list. Antarctica is a place that very few humans get to visit. That means that you can experience a continent that is virtually untouched. There are helicopter tours, yacht tours, and the opportunity to travel by ship. Of course, you will need hearty cold weather gear, and be up for the challenge, but there are few destinations in the world that will give you the sense of wonder and immensity that Antarctica will.

Galapagos Island

In large part because it’s surrounded by water, Galapagos Island was able to fare pretty well with Covid, with only 78 cases throughout the entire time. The country, in which it’s located, Ecuador, did not fare so well. However, if you are looking for a hot spot to enjoy beaches and exotic animals, Galapagos Island is an amazing destination. Since it had so few cases, it’s been pretty safe as it is. However, what is so attractive about it is that it is not usually crowded, and you can have the opportunity to frolic with adorable animals and amazing aquatic life. You can also take a cruise around the island to get the full scope of its beauty.

Bolivia

South America as a whole did not do very well when it came to Covid-19. However, there are some places within it that did very well, such as the Galapagos Island already mentioned, and the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. One of the most stunning attractions in the region is its massive salt flats. Most tours are done by jeep, and lead to a hotel constructed out of salt. Through the salt flats lie gorgeous mountain ranges that contain hot springs and hiking trails. You can also enjoy the wonder of volcanic guyers spread through the region. Social distancing is easy, since tours are in small vehicles holding only up to 6 people, and other than the hotel, visitors stay at small guest houses throughout their tours.

Travelling might seem like an outlandish thought to you right now. The fact is, most of the world has spent the past year and more trying to avoid catching a deadly disease and spreading it to others. However, life will continue, and just like with pandemics through history, things will get back to normal. As they do, we can start to plan to go back to doing things we love. If you love to travel, then there are a wide range of places to go and sights to see. When the time comes, don’t be afraid to go out and experience the world.
