Turkish artist Murat Pulat reinterprets well-known film stills using thick coats of oil paint. Scenes taken from Old Hollywood movies, New Wave French films, and 1960s television shows turned into textured paintings by the talented artist. Artist Pulat begins with shades of gray to reflect the black and white character of the films and then adds a touch of color like his signature. They look as if they were pixalated. You can visit his exhibit at the Leila Heller Gallery in Chelsea, New York at 568 West 25th Street until February 15, 2014.
