Austin based photographer Jim Nix shares his love of travel and photography by publishing 5-6 images per week on his blog. To him not the gear but the photographer himself is important. He uses Photomatix to create his HDR images.
He states his point of view for photography with a quote from Elliott Erwitt; “To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
What is HDR?
HDR stands for High Dynamic Range and is a digital photography technique whereby multiple exposures of the same scene are layered and merged using image editing software to create a more realistic image, or a dramatic effect. The combined exposures can display a wider range of tonal values than what the digital camera is capable of recording in a single image.
